AdamBednarek

I work with steel structures. I build tools that make their documentation easier to work with.

I am a civil engineer working across 3D modelling, steel detailing, and the coordination of complex project work. Alongside that practice, I am developing software that turns project documentation into information engineers can inspect and correct.

Scope
An interpreter for steel-structure project documentation.

Since 2023 · Project Leader / Tekla Draughtsman

Documentation is the starting point, not the finish line.

Schedules, PDF drawings, and models carry useful information, but reading them still depends on context. The prototype in development is designed to structure that information, keep the link to its source, and leave room for engineering judgement.

Prototype in development

Ordivra

An interpreter for steel-structure project documentation, combining drawing-data analysis, AI, and validation.

One flow, three states.

  1. 01

    Source

PDF drawings and schedules where the reading begins.

  2. 02

    Data

Structured elements, quantities, and references back to source.

  3. 03

    Review

READY / REVIEW / BLOCKED — with room for correction and judgement.

Current prototype scope

READY
Data from drawings and schedules is structured with references back to source.
REVIEW
Uncertain interpretations are routed to review instead of disappearing into the result.
BLOCKED
Insufficient evidence stays visible and waits for a decision.

IFC export and review implementations exist within the supported scope. Independent annotations and project-wide accuracy measurements are not finished.

My role

I bring together the perspective of someone who works with the documentation and someone who builds the tool.

It is not meant to design in an engineer’s place. It is meant to make the path from file to inspectable, editable, deliberate information easier.

Experience

From modelling support structures to leading complex steel-detailing projects.

  1. Project Leader Tekla Draughtsman

    • Independently leading complex steel-detailing projects; organising a small team’s work, quality, deadlines, and client contact.
    • 3D modelling and detailing of steel bridges and buildings in Tekla Structures; preparing workshop and production documentation.
    • Parametric solutions in Rhino/Grasshopper and process improvement across disciplines.
    • Led three steel bridge projects between 2023 and 2024 and co-led a major steel-building project between 2024 and 2025.
  2. Junior structural designer

    • Contributed to the design of cold-formed steel support structures for photovoltaic farms.
    • Produced Tekla models and drawings while collaborating with senior designers.
